Erin & Ken - Wedding Story

Memorable. The most memorable part was the feeling of peace I had throughout the entire day. A bride once told me that you can either stress about the entire day or make an effort to remember every possible detail. I tried as much as possible to relax and just take it all in knowing that this day only lasts for 24 hours. Some other memorable moments include walking down the aisle with my dad, saying our vows, and our first dance. Our videographer backed out the morning of and the pianist had to leave town the night before. God blessed me with this incredible peace and people just stepped up and took care of the situation. The amazing support we received from family and friends was so overwhelming and I still tear up thinking about it. It was very humbling.

Stressed. I made the terrible mistake of going to the front desk and asking them what the weather was supposed to be like from noon on. We had an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception so when the lady said I should not have asked, I had a small panic attack. We just went back to the bridal room and said a prayer for sunny skies and at 5:15 pm the sun shone gloriously. We could not have asked for a more perfect day.

Favorite. Everything!!! I know most brides probably say that but it really was. Polly McCarthy (Poppies) would be one of my most favorite. She has such an amazing gift with flowers. Her decorating was impeccable! The next would be putting on my dress, veil and shoes and seeing Ken for the first time. We were both anxious to “just be married”.

Advice. Make an effort to remember certain points. One of our bridesmaids told me before the wedding that “I just don’t want this day to end, cause at midnight I’ll turn back into a pumpkin.” She brought laughter and joy to the rest of the day. Also, make sure you write down specific poses or people you want photos with. On the wedding day it is easy to forget a lot of things and I missed getting specific photos I wanted. Other than that, focus on each other and your special day. It only happens once.
