Amy & Ben - Wedding Story
Memorable. I think by the most memorable part of the day was the Father Daughter dance that my dad and I choreographed.
It was all my dad's idea. He is the last person in the world you would think would want to do something like this, but I am his baby girl,
and he knows that performing is my true passion. He knew I would want something special so that my wedding day would truly stand out.
It was so amazing because Ben, my husband, also took part in the dance...it was definitely more of acting out a song than a true "Father
Daughter dance." If you have a crazy idea for your wedding, do it!! Chances are, everyone will love that you put your own personality into it.
Stressed. I actually wasn't stressed at all the week of the wedding or on my wedding day. I knew that there was nothing I could change and that at the end of the day, I was marrying my best friend so nothing else mattered. However, I never knew how stressful it would be having other people with their own ideas for the wedding. Having two different families together was hard at times, but it was fun to figure out how to put everyone's ideas together and make the wedding a true union of families. Favorite. I loved taking pictures! My photographer, Peter Ringenberg, and I went the week of the wedding and charted out where I wanted pictures taken and what poses I wanted to do. This was so amazing because the day of the wedding we weren't standing around, wasting time, thinking about what kind of poses to do. It made everything go so smoothly and we just got to enjoy being with each other and joking around. Ben says that his favorite part of the day was the end haha. It was amazing at the end of the day when we could just be together and let it truly sink in that we were married! Advice. Don't let your budget control you! Contrary to popular belief, you do NOT need to suck your parents dry for the wedding! We had an amazing 300 person wedding for under $5000. There are so many ways to save money on weddings! I would definitely want them all to know that there are certain things you should go all out for, but there are many other ways that, if you don't mind putting in the extra work, you can save money and make things have your own personal touch! |
