The Essential Eight for Your Honeymoon Get Away
The key to successful packing is keeping your luggage light. When you lug around less you feel more relaxed. Although, less is more there is an "Essential Eight" packing list you should adhere to. Documentation. When leaving or entering countries we need proper documentation; in your purse make sure you include your passport, driver's license, plane tickets, credit cards and cash. These valuable essentials will need to be with you at all times. Carry-on bag. No matter the length of the flight, you will be grateful for immediate access to these quintessential items: breath mints, small makeup bag, lip balm, hairbrush and a change of clothing for each of you. If you get delayed somewhere or your luggage gets lost you won't have to worry about not being able to freshen up. Other in-flight items include: a beverage (for both of you), snacks, antacids/aspirin, prescription medicines, sunglasses, hand sanitizer, camera, Ipod and cell phone with charger. Clothing. Pack versatile clothing. You want to keep your bags light, taking key pieces that you can mix and match and layer. Sundresses are fabulous! They can be dressed down with flip-flops or spiced up for an evening out with a pair of strappy-sandals. Fundamental accessories such as scarves and bold pieces of jewelry are brilliant ways to dress up an outfit for an evening out. Shoes. Leave your high heels at home and focus on comfort. A pair of comfortable casual walking shoes, a pair of causal sandals and a pair of strappy-sandals with a kitty heel is all you need. This gives you enough selection for casual, swim and evening attire. Toiletries. Make sure you bring your shampoo and conditioner in travel sized containers! Airline regulations are very particular. You can buy just about anything in travel-sized containers including soap, body wash, gel, and hairspray. Remember less is always better! Bring only the toiletries you know you will use not the ones you think you might use. To avoid messes in your bag, pack everything in a ziploc bag. You want to avoid arriving to your hotel with conditioner all over your favorite dress. Hair Appliances. Your blow dryer, straightener and curling iron can take up a lot of room in your bag. Try to leave at least one of them at home. Call your hotel and see what amenities they have in your room. Many times blow dryers are a standard amenity. Then, if you use both a straightener and a curling iron - choose one. However you style your hair, we're certain your hubby will think you're gorgeous! Beach Basics. When traveling to places with sand and sun don't forget to pack your sunscreen, sunglasses, and bathing suits! A flirty beach cover up is essential and makes for an easy transition from laying out to dining out. Proof. You absolutely must bring your camera and extra batteries! You need to be able to show off the fantastic time you had to friends, family and future kids. |
